This program aimed to provide free eye health services to the local community, focusing on cataract screening, free consultations, and the distribution of free medicines. The initiative was supported by EPO, Nasir Hospital, and various healthcare professionals who volunteered their time and expertise.
Objectives:
1. To offer free eye check-ups and consultations to underserved populations.
2. To diagnose and provide treatment for common eye diseases.
3. To identify cataract patients and arrange for free cataract surgeries with Intraocular Lenses (IOL).
4. To raise awareness about cornea donation registration.
Details of the Camp:
The camp was a resounding success, attracting a total of 310 patients for eye check-ups. These individuals received consultations from Dr. Mazhar Abbas Naqvi, a renowned ophthalmologist, and his dedicated team. During the camp, patients were provided with free medicines to address various eye-related issues.
Among the screened patients, 49 individuals were identified as requiring cataract surgery. These patients were subsequently scheduled for **cataract operations with IOL at Nasir Hospital, with all expenses covered by the EPO. This initiative significantly contributed to restoring the vision of individuals suffering from cataracts.
